This Privacy Policy explains what data Oblik s. r. o. (“we,” “us,” “Oblik”) collects when you use Murasaki or request a license, and what we do with it.

We are the data controller for the personal data described below.
Murasaki is a desktop application. The novels, chapters, notes, characters, and everything else you write inside the app stay on your own computer, in a local database file. None of that content is ever transmitted to us, and the app makes no network request that includes any of it.
When you request a license: your email address, provided when you request access to Murasaki Full.
When you download Murasaki Light: the email address you give on the download page. We use it to send you a free license key for Light and to let you know about updates. We store that key alongside your address so we can send it to you again if it never arrived.
When Murasaki checks your license: the license key stored on your machine, sent once at each app startup to confirm it’s valid. Standard technical data that accompanies any network request — your IP address and the time of the request — is used only to detect abuse and keep the license service reliable.
When Murasaki starts: anonymous aggregate usage statistics — how much has been written since the last time it sent them: works, chapters and words added, along with the app version, edition and operating system. No text content, no titles and no filenames are sent. Your license key is used in passing to derive a one-way code, so that one installation counts once rather than many times; the key itself is never stored with these statistics, and the code cannot be turned back into it or linked to your email address. We use them only to understand, in aggregate, how much writing happens in Murasaki.
We do not collect your name, your novel’s title or content, or filenames.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
No other third-party processors are used for Murasaki.
getmurasaki.app uses Google Analytics to see how the site is used — which pages are visited and which downloads are started. It loads only if you accept it in the cookie banner; if you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics script runs and no analytics cookies are set. Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage so we do not have to ask again.
This applies to the website only. The desktop app sets no cookies and uses no analytics SDK — see the anonymous aggregate statistics described above.
We keep your email address and license record for as long as your license is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for support and accounting purposes, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. The same applies to the free Light license key issued on download.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Slovak Office for Personal Data Protection (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov SR).
